It can be very simple. It is important to provide your therapist with your basic information, past history (physical & mental), and current concerns that you have. The first session will consist of paperwork that you will need to complete so that your therapist can make sure you understand that your sessions are confidential. You may also sign release of information waivers for someone else to contact your therapist on your behalf, or to share information with another health care provider. Without this paperwork, your therapist can release very little information about your sessions. Some of this is completed in session, but there may be forms you can complete and bring to your first session.
